Summer Series: June 2 – September 22, 2024
The summer is considered a season of Ordinary Time in the life of the Church—a season in between the mystifying resurrection of Jesus at Easter, and Jesus’ birth, visited anew, at Advent. The lectionary texts for these weeks follow the family narratives of Abraham, which are stories that make the title “ordinary” seem laughable. Ordinary time is punctuated by a God who keeps showing up—persistently, creatively, and lovingly—in ways that are surprising, transformative, joyful, reconciling, and unifying. The movement of the Spirit is anything but ordinary. (Sanctified Art)

Worship services at Midway Christian are traditional in many ways. The atmosphere of the congregation is welcoming to all sorts of expressions of our faith. There is time to share community announcements and prayer concerns. The chancel choir leads us in hymns and brings us the anthem each Sunday. The hand bell choir also performs several times a year.
Preaching is important to the Disciples. The sermons at Midway are biblical, relevant and often challenging. Above all, worship at Midway Christian is an experience where every person is welcomed to discover the love of God for them and their world made known through Jesus Christ.more
