A Pastoral Word
First, I want to say THANK YOU to an amazing church family that has loved Mike and me along this journey which lead us to Hannah. Thank you for your love, support and prayers. We have definitely felt them surrounding us through it all. Thank you for the diapers that have been dropped off outside of my office. Thank you for the beautiful clothes. Thank you for all that you have done. Words cannot express nor capture the overwhelming blessing that all of you are to us. I am so lucky to be a part of a loving family.
Second, I want to say THANK YOU to our amazing church leadership! They didn’t blink an eye when I mentioned that I was in Florida, picking up Hannah, and they were in charge. What a gift! What a blessing! I know that I am fortunate to be surrounded and in ministry with so many capable servants of God.
Third, I want to say THANK YOU to our wonderful elders. Thank your for your leadership during this time and for filling in as ministers on Sunday mornings. I know when we first discussed this plan, all of you graciously said yes even though I know that many of your were worried and wondered if you could do it. The Spirit moves in mysterious ways and I honestly believe the Spirit was leading us and guiding us as elders to reclaim the spiritual leadership of the church, and for all of us, me included, to step out of our comfort zones.
Fourth, I want to say THANK YOU to our great staff! Thank you to Rhonda, Jestine, Stephanie, and Jessica for picking up the reigns and doing what you do! I am so lucky to be in ministry with all of you and I am so grateful for your gifts that you share with Midway each week.
Lastly, I want to say that I am glad to be back! I have missed all of you and being involved at Midway Christian. It is amazing what can happen in a few short weeks! Life for all of us has brought many changes in the new year and I am thankful to be on this journey with you as your minister.
And as we enter into a new year, filled with many ministry opportunities, I leave you with these words from Jeremiah. May they bring us comfort, hope, and renewing energy to continue to share our word of WELCOME with all of God’s children.
“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare, and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me. I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me, says the Lord".
