Each week, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper as part of our worship service. This practice of faith for Midway Christian Church serves as a reminder that we are called to WELCOME all just as God has welcomed us and consistently shapes the outreach and ministries of this congregation. The Lord’s Supper is not just something we do on Sunday mornings. It is who we. We are people of the Table!

We break bread with one another and we drink from the cup of the new covenant every time we gather as a congregation. Whether it is gathering around a table at our potluck dinners or serving from the table at our monthly Free Community dinners, the practice of the Lord’s Supper shapes us and reminds us of God’s welcome for all and to all of God’s children.

Our mission of WELCOME arises from our identity as people of the Table. In Matthew 10:40, we are told, “Whoever welcomes you, welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me, welcomes the one who sent me.” By claiming the Lord’s Supper as our identity-forming practice, our mission of WELCOME becomes a powerful symbol to us and our community, always reminding us of the presence of God in our midst and our calling to WELCOME all in Christ’s name.

Putting our faith into action, we strive to live out our mission of WELCOME through outreach to those in need. We offer ministries that seek to help those in our immediate community and around the world. We also support various organizations, local, statewide, and international, who in turn work to build up the Kingdom of God.
